Sensei Chad Smith-"I have trained and became friends with many Martial Artist. Here are some of the people who have made me what I am today" ! ! !
I began training in the Martial Arts with Master Keen Hou at age 8. I studied under Master Hou until the age of 11 at which time Master Hou returned to China. I loved the Martial Arts so much I continued to practice what I learned on my own. It was at age 19 that I found my true home where I would develop and learn my true Martial Arts skills and knowledge. I was introduced to Grandmaster Peggy Mitchell and Grandmaster Ozzie Mitchell. I learned unbelievable Martial Arts skills and knowledge. I quickly moved through my ranks and became one of the top martial artist in the area. I trained 7 days a week 2-4 hours a day in the dojo and 2-4 hours at home. I was determined to be better then anyone else. I watched every move and listened to every word that came from my Instructors; I wanted to be just like them and just as good! I earnded the nick name Smokin Chad because I beat my opponents so quickly they would say that I smoked them. I can't tell you how much I have been blessed in th martial arts being able to train with Instructors like mine. They not only shared their knowledge but also made me part of their family. I will always remember what Grandmaster Peggy and Grandmaster Ozzie Mitchell have given me. Throughout my life I will be a reflection of them and their martial arts skills.
After about 13 years of training, I began to train and learn from other Masters in the Martial Arts. I trained with only the best Instructors and Masters around, it is because of them I became one of the best Martial Artist that I could possibly be. I would like to give a special thanks to Grandmaster John Townsley for all the knowledge, support, and opportunities he gave me. Grandmaster Townsley allowed me to see the world through Team USA and fight great fights. I was also given the opportunity to serve on the board of Team USA and also be a coach for the USA Karate Team, Team USA. What a ride I have had in the martial arts. Thank you all. I will always do my best to reflect a positive image for all who have shared their knowledge with me. To you I give thanks and praise:
