Welcome to Kokoro Martial Arts, where tradition meets innovation, and every student is empowered to grow in mind, body, and spirit. With over three decades of experience in teaching martial arts, Kokoro Martial Arts is proud to bring our dojo’s unique approach to Wausau, WI. Our new location, now open, offers high-quality martial arts training to adults, and we will be starting our children’s program soon.

As we launch our school, we are beginning with adult classes, providing comprehensive programs in American Kenpo, Yoshin-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, and Tai Chi/QiGong. Kids’ classes will be added in the near future to give young students the opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, and self-defense skills in a supportive and engaging environment. We have an extensive kids curriculum, which includes a fun approach with each belt represented by one of the traditional Chinese Animals, and which includes character building, anti-abduction, and anti-bully techniques.

At Kokoro Martial Arts, our philosophy is rooted in the principles of self-defense and learning how to protect yourself and those you love. This focus applies to all our programs, regardless of age or experience level. Our goal is to equip every student with the tools they need to feel confident, safe, and empowered in any situation.

At Kokoro Martial Arts, our teaching methodology goes beyond just the physical techniques; it embraces the Seven Virtues of the Samurai as a guide for personal growth and character development. Through our training, students cultivate these virtues of justice, courage, compassion, respect, honesty, honor, and loyalty, both on and off the mat. These timeless principles shape our approach, helping students build not only strength and skill but also the moral foundation to lead disciplined and virtuous lives.
