Getting started is simple! Here’s what you’ll need to begin training from home:
- A phone, tablet, or camera-equipped computer with internet access.
Most modern devices offer video quality good enough for instructors to see you clearly during class. - A small training space.
Most techniques can be practiced in an area as small as 6 feet by 6 feet. Occasionally, such as when working on forms, you may need a space closer to 10 feet by 10 feet, but in general, limited space is not a barrier to getting started. - A training partner (optional but highly recommended).
Practicing techniques and drills with another person greatly enhances your learning. If a partner isn’t available, a heavy bag or BOB (Body Opponent Bag) can be an excellent substitute. - Training equipment (optional).
While no special gear is required to start, we are developing home-based training tools to help students practice drills more effectively on their own. - A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
